On behalf of our client, a renowned Pharmaceutical company in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for a highly dedicated and competent Linux System Engineer (SLURM).
This is a contract placement in Basel.
The start date is ASAP.
The contract will run until end of December 2015.
In this challenging contract role you will be responsible for:
Analyzing new or changed requirements on feasibility, complexity and impact to existing/planned systems, standards and guidelines.
Specifying the system architecture, selection of hardware, network, controlling components and system software, defining the necessary technical resources, investigate alternatives and feasibility
Developing or choosing the appropriate methods, techniques, standards and tools for the assembly and operation of the systems
Planning, evaluating, migrating, developing/implenting, configuring, testing and implementing of systems (hardware, network, control, software)
Analyzing incidents and errors, applying and monitoring actions for correction
In order to be considered for this exciting role you are required to have:
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent;
Thorrough knowledge with SLURM for the design and implementation of a hetrogeneous and distributed SLURM environment and the migration of scientific applications from bioinformatics, chemistry and statistics to SLURM
Thorrough knowledge in Linux: RedHat 5, RedHat 6, CentOS 6, CentOS 7, Spacewalk, Satellite and kickstart
Experience with configuration management: puppet preferred
Experience with the profiling and optimization of scientific HPC applications
Experience with the management of parallel file systems
Fluency in English
