On behalf of our client, a prestigious international Telecommunications company, Manning Global Group is currently looking for a Field Service Transmission Patching Engineer to work on a contract basis in Zurich, Switzerland.
Responsibilities:
Understanding and Applying constant Vigilance to established safety practices of our client and their customers, implementing quality control processes
Understanding and Applying constant vigilance to following our client's Installation Methods and/or NTPs to ensure customer service
Leading site team, planning/managing logistics, physical installation of hardware, Coordinating, Driving and Reporting site productivity milestones, Performing and Supervising all physical and mechanical installation activities, performing power and grounding installation on equipment and small power plants, referring to the installation methods, Providing technical coaching and assistance with day-to-day administrative responsibilities (ie operating systems, timesheets, documentation, etc.)
Reading and interpreting Engineering Specs, Prints and Drawings
Inventorying job-related materials
Demonstrating proper use of tools incl. the ability to use a Personal Computer and various software applications (email, excel)
Performing power verification and power-up of equipment, performing preliminary hardware and functional testing on in- and out-of-service equipment
Coordinating installation, on-site and/or remote commissioning, network certification and final cutover of assigned jobs.
Maintaining on site job records and administration tracking, eg Ensuring shipment accuracy of job related material, Coordinating equipment and trashing removal from site, Identifying T&E and JCO opportunities to management, submitting all closing docs to management teams, managing IR, ER and JIM requirements etc.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years relevant microwave installation experience.
- Flexibility and desire to work irregular shifts (nights, maintenance window, etc) and overtime
- Ability to multi-task and maintain composure in stressful and demanding work environments
- Ability to work in remote and challenging locations including but not limited to rooftops, vaults, congested areas, rugged terrain, and various types of geographical locations
- Very good English skills, German or French is an asset
