For our customer Roche Diagnostics International AG based in Rotkreuz we are looking for a highly qualified Electrical Engineer - Molecular Lab HW Development (m/f/d).
Background :
The Customer Segment Molecular Lab develops and produces innovative tests based on the Nobel Prize-winning discovery of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The tests, developed by this business area for oncology, virology, HPV, microbiology and for blood screening products, are used around the world by doctors, patients, hospitals, laboratories, blood banks and researchers. The Sub Chapter Thermal Solutions develops and maintains mechatronic units integrated into diagnostic systems. While the majority of our projects are based on Molecular Diagnostics technology, the Thermal Solutions Team develops solutions for all Customer Areas within the entire global Roche network. To further strengthen our capabilities, we are looking for a Development Engineer with core competencies in electrical engineering, both hardware and firmware development.
The perfect candidate: has a Bachelor Degree in electrical engineering and at least 3 years professional experience as a development engineer of electronic components. Deep knowledge in electrical engineering and development of mechatronic hardware in general is required as well as knowledge in safety, EMC and reliability engineering. The perfect candidate has experience in ECAD Systems and programming languages ??such as C / C# / C++. For this position it is required to be fluent in English, the hiring manager will consider candidates without German skills but it is a strong plus..
Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Collaboration in interdisciplinary teams for concept studies, feasibility analysis, and
development projects of mechatronic units in the IVD/IVDR environment
* Design of electronic modules used in newly developed, and in legacy products, from functional model to series-produced instruments
* Development of electronics hardware (HW/FW); starting from writing technical specifications, designing solutions until integration into the diagnostic system
* Development of R&D hardware test equipment and scripts
* Creating and updating manufacturing documents, technical documentation and project deliverables for product development and product care activities
* Identifying and coordinating external development partners and suppliers
* Execution of typical product care projects focusing on electronic solutions as eg replacements of discontinued parts, cost optimizations, root cause analysis, bug fixes and product updates
Must Haves:
* Bachelor or Master of Science in electrical engineering or equivalent
* Minimum of 3 years professional experience as a development engineer of electronic components (eg PCBs)
* Deep knowledge in electrical engineering (analog and digital circuits, wiring diagrams, programming of microcontrollers ) and development of mechatronic hardware in general
* Knowledge in safety-, EMC- and reliability engineering
* Experience in ECAD Systems (eg Mentor Xpedition, Altium) and programming languages ??such as C / C# / C++.
* Effectively structured, independent way of working to achieve committed results
* Winning personality with good communication and presentation skills
* Strong team and customer orientation in a diverse, multicultural environment
* Fluent in written and spoken English, German is a strong ass
Nice to Have:
* Experience in Matlab, JMP or Python
* Experience in the diagnostics industry (preferably in the field of lab automation)
* Experience in a GMP regulated environment
