A global Swiss Insurance Company is looking for a Senior Java Application Engineer. The candidate will implement business functionality extending the features of an SAP solution with Spring Boot microservices in an event-driven architecture. While most of the specification and development work for the project is done yet, the candidate will be part of a team that operates mostly out of the US. You will be working closely with colleagues in both location and ensure the information flow to the US team members. Hence excellent communication skills are a must beside the technical skills. Due to the rest of team working out of the US, also a certain flexibility towards work hours is expected (not overtime).Start Date: asap

Tasks:
- Develop data integration- and business services using microservices.
- Ensure applications are performing and tested against requirements.
- Ensure compliance with CI/CD and automated testing and build pipeline.
- Prepare unit tests for automated testing.
- Performing code reviews.
- Fixing bugs and issues in deployed applications.
- Demonstrate expert understanding of the Java application development stack and tools.
- Understand architectural issues.
- Ensure information flow to other team members.
Requirements:
- Strong and experienced Java developer.
- Understanding of Native Cloud development.
- Understanding of public cloud provider like Azure, GCP. AWS.
- Strong knowledge of reactive architecture and microservices – Spring Boot.
- Experience with messaging and stream processing architectures built on Kafka.
- Test driven development: proven expertise in writing unit tests and end to end integration tests.
- Experience to work in a scrum team.
Following skills would be a plus
- Experience with Event Sourcing.
- Experience / Exposure with SAP's accounting solutions.
- Openness to work with new tools in a constantly changing IT environment.
- Work with CI/CD for integration and deployment: Expertise in automated build, test & deploy.
