Projekthistorie
- Concept, Design and Creation of a fully automated Car Wash platform.Created three React based Web Apps and a Java-based Backend.
- The first app allows the customer to easily book a Car Wash while shopping after parking in one of the Malls in Dubai.
- The second app is used by the Car washing teams to receive Washing requests automatically assigned to them by the backend based on existing workloads for the teams.
- A team member handles an incoming request by accepting it, doing the car wash on site, then marking the job as done, at which point the Customer is notified.
- The third app is an Administration UI accessed through a Desktop Web browser which allows the manager to see incoming orders, modify teams, set up products and prices and essentially control the whole platform.
- The Backend is based on a scalable dockerized Java solution, offering RESTful Web services deployed on AWS
- The Continuous Integration environment is set up to trigger a whole mechanism of testing, linting, building and deploying all application parts after a single git push to the master branch.
Reporting directly to the CEO and CTO of the largest Online Travel Agency in the Middle East, my main responsibilities consisted of the following:
- Take over the German entity (Tajawal GmbH) and set up an office and operations in Berlin.
- Hire and manage all team members across Berlin, Dubai and Egypt for the Mobile teams, with full budget responsibility.
- Transform the existing Waterfall process into an Agile process. Due to my experience in the field, I regularly took part in C-Level meetings to coach upper management on how to implement Agile processes in a company-wide fashion.
- Make key strategic product and technical decisions for the Mobile Apps, which made up more than 50% of gross revenue at the time.
- Set up a Continuous Integration delivery system that enabled us to release properly tested biweekly updates for all of our Apps.
- Create and maintain feature roadmaps for the iOS, Android and Mobile Web Apps, which I regularly shared and discussed with upper management.
- Implement a proper UX process, including wireframing, prototyping and user testing, which enabled us to properly align features with stakeholders from other departments (backend, marketing, etc.) and minimize redundant work.
- Work with the data team to clearly visualize our funnels and be able to report progress on our goals and metrics to upper management.
- Set up an A/B testing process via Google to continuously optimize our features to the smallest details.
- Coordinate features implemented on our Mobile platforms with the Head of Product, who back then was solely responsible for the Web/Desktop roadmap.
Leading a team of 16 people to create a full 3D Space game for Virtual Reality headsets. Did a major part of the programming myself in C# using the Unity game engine for VR. Space Rift was released for the Oculus Riȅ and HTC Vive VR headset on PC and for the PlayStation VR on Sony's platform.
