- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Initial 6-month contract with potential extension
- Location: Zurich, Switzerland
- Work Model: Hybrid
- Project Language: English
- Build and operate the end-to-end telemetry pipeline from on-device systems to the cloud, ensuring reliable ingestion of logs and metrics from every robot into the observability stack (Vector, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Foxglove).
- Structure and optimise robot logs to enable efficient searchability and analysis within Grafana.
- Develop custom metric exporters to provide engineering teams with the observability data they need most.
- Implement on-demand access to recorded robot data (MCAP) across the fleet.
- Deploy and scale solutions across the entire fleet using Yocto images, OTA updates, Ansible, and NixOS.
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki in production environments, supported by log and metric shippers such as Vector, Fluent Bit, or Promtail.
- Proven experience building Grafana dashboards that provide rapid access to critical operational and engineering insights.
- Demonstrated success designing and operating scalable logging and metrics pipelines across large fleets of devices.
- Experience with fleet management, device observability, and monitoring at scale.
- Experience operating observability platforms connected to managed cloud environments, preferably Azure.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++.
- Solid Linux systems expertise, including systemd/journald, networking, and performance troubleshooting.
- Ability to quickly understand new environments and deliver independently within a defined scope.
- Experience deploying and operating robotic or embedded systems in production at scale.
- Hands-on experience with ROS 2 and robotics data tools such as Foxglove and MCAP.
- Knowledge of Embedded Linux platforms, including Yocto and NVIDIA Jetson.
- Experience with OTA update solutions such as Mender.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and fleet configuration management tools, including Ansible, Terraform/OpenTofu, Nix/NixOS, and Kubernetes.
