- Building and self-hosting AI and software products end-to-end on Hetzner (Linux, Docker, CI/CD) — owning provisioning, deployment, and operations rather than relying on managed platforms.
- Built a full-stack web app with AI coding agents in a spec-first workflow: React/TypeScript, OpenAPI contract, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, 200+ automated tests, CI/CD, observability with actionable alerts and an AI on-call (SRE) agent.
- Set up an AI-powered software factory for the startups I support: agentic coding workflows embedded in CI/CD, automated testing, and review.
- Fractional CTO for an early-stage Swiss B2B SaaS startup (urban safety intelligence): technical due diligence of the iOS/cloud MVP; target architecture and scaling roadmap incl. GDPR/Swiss FADP-compliant EU hosting; co-shaped go-to-market and seed funding strategy.
- Architecture and feasibility ownership for a fully automated business-loan journey for SME clients of German banks ("10 Minutes to Cash"): reference architecture, vendor and integration catalogue (credit bureaus, KYC/video ident, PSD2 account data), and compliance framework (DORA, KWG, GDPR Art. 22).
- Built a B2B platform for a hydrogen company, incl. an AI research assistant (web scraping + LLM) that automates industry research and article drafting.
- Forward-deployed AI and data engineering partner embedded in client teams: use-case discovery with business leads, requirements, working prototypes, production systems.
- Banking: big-data platform, ML observability use cases, and a reliability engineering framework for a global bank; led core-banking data-flow blueprinting for a global private bank (6-figure annual growth × 3 years); led a self-hosted AI coding assistant on on-prem Kubernetes for a Swiss financial institution.
- AI enablement: rolled out AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, customised Azure OpenAI, self-hosted code LLM) to development teams at banks and internally — setup, onboarding, and coaching under strict compliance; built AI knowledge hubs; AI training workshops for a major Swiss retailer and a biotech company.
- Life sciences: led manufacturing analytics, data products, and AI use cases for a global pharmaceutical company (4+ years, 6-figure annual growth); sleep-apnoea detection with university hospitals, using active learning that incorporates physicians’ judgement rather than replacing it.
- Defined reusable reference architectures for agentic systems (orchestration, retrieval, human-in-the-loop); mandated a standardised delivery methodology with AI across the SDLC: CI/CD, automated testing, quality gates, SRE, audit/compliance checks.
- Led a team of 7 plus contractors and partners; owned P&L and hiring; scaled to 7-figure annual revenue and profitability. Key accounts continue after my exit.
