I'm a software engineer and tech lead with 8+ years of experience building mobile apps, backend systems and payment integrations. I work with Flutter, Node.js, Java and React, lead a team of five engineers, and enjoy taking products from idea to production.
Skills
Flutter & Mobile Development
Expertise in building Flutter mobile applications using Dart, with state management solutions including Redux, BLoC/Cubit, Riverpod, and Provider. Delivery of customer-facing, agent-facing, and rider applications across multiple platforms.
Backend & API Development
Strong background in Java, Spring Boot, and Node.js for building REST APIs and backend services. Integration of enterprise systems, payment APIs, and WebSocket-based real-time communication.
IoT Monitoring & Data Pipelines
Design and optimization of IoT monitoring platforms supporting large-scale BLE sensor deployments. Implementation of Redis caching and MySQL data persistence strategies to handle high-frequency sensor updates efficiently.
Database Management
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis for data storage, caching, and performance optimization in high-load environments.
Infrastructure & DevOps
Proficiency in Linux, Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Nginx for cloud deployments and reliable software delivery workflows.
ERP Integration
Contribution to ERP migration projects including NetSuite to ERPNext transitions, reducing licensing costs and improving access to implementation resources.
Android Development
Experience in Android application development using Java and Kotlin, progressing from intern-level to Head of Technology responsibilities.
System Architecture
Architecture of end-to-end systems including LPG cylinder lifecycle tracking, digital lending platforms, and sports facility booking systems.
Payment API Integration
Integration of payment solutions including M-Pesa for local transactions and Paystack for international payments across multiple platforms.

Projekthistorie
Leading five engineers across mobile, backend, IoT, and infrastructure work. Architected LPG cylinder lifecycle tracking supporting 10,000+ cylinders across four depots. Delivered Flutter and backend capabilities for JGAS and fleet/mobility workflows. Introduced Redis caching to address MySQL workload during a 1,000 BLE sensor pilot. Contributed to ERP migration from NetSuite to ERPNext, reporting annual savings of approximately USD 150,000.
Developed and maintained customer and agent-facing insurance applications with a combined user base of more than 1,000. Implemented Flutter mobile features and REST API integrations supporting digital insurance workflows and enterprise backend services.
Progressed from Android Developer Intern to Head of Technology. Led development of environmental monitoring and data collection solutions including Vipimo and ODK-based platforms for water utilities in Kenya. Managed an international agricultural data collection and crop mapping project for GeoGLAM across East Africa, achieving 35% savings against the allocated project budget. Collaborated with Deltares to develop a flood monitoring solution for Tanzania. Managed SLAs and technical support for IoT sensors deployed across schools, flower farms, and other monitoring sites in Kenya.
