Projekthistorie
As a data scientist and software engineer in the Data & Analytics unit at Mazars, I drive innovation and foster a data-driven culture within the organisation. Operating as a startup within a larger enterprise, our team of engineers and data scientists collaborates to develop automation software and machine learning products on the Azure cloud. We focus on establishing a robust data ecosystem, promoting data governance, and advocating for a comprehensive data strategy.
As a leader of two sub-teams comprising eight Java engineers, I
was responsible for people management and technical decisions
around a GCP-based microservice system that executes search,
auction, and ranking models at trivago. Under my guidance, my
team has fostered a data-driven decision-making approach for
engineering processes. By questioning and redesigning past
architecture decisions, the engineering team was able to increase
trivago's top-line revenue by more than 2% without adversely
affecting user metrics.

As an engineer, I made architectural decisions and developed
backend products in the time of a challenging business situation
caused by the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
During my tenure as a Data Scientist, I conducted a deep dive into
trivago's backend logs, resulting in the discovery and elimination
of several bugs. This led to a 20% decrease in the load on trivago's
advertisers.
