Having a total experience of 17+ years as Cost and value engineer. Since Jan'2008, I have served as Cost & Value Engineer, where I have been working in Planning, Analysis and Executing of Pilot Projects, which involved Product Costing, Design to Cost (DtC), Design to Value (DtV), DFx, DFM, Value Engineering and New product development.
Having deep knowledge & experience in Lean Manufacturing, Line Balancing. and Cost Modeling of parts (with commodities of Sheet metal stamping, Plastic Injection Molding, Machining, 3D Printing, Composites, Sand Casting and Forging). Analysis of profitability for newly developed home appliances, automotive components and aerospace parts.
Implementation of VAVE methodologies, TRIZ, FAST Ranking Chart and Pugh matrix for various complex projects. Extensively worked on target costing for complex assemblies, ROI and product life cycle calculations, based on the design CTQ, material and process substitution were identified to achieve target cost reduction.
Identify the main cost drivers of the product and propose solutions. Calculation of projects in all phases according to the product development process (concept, design, industrialization). Calculation of production alternatives in terms of design, method and production.
Worked on costing tools like aPriori, DFMA (Boothroyd Dewhurst), FACTON, CAT Costimator (MTI Systems), Siemens TcPCM,4Cost and Excel based costing. ERP, SAP (Production Planning) and SAP (Material Management). Python, SQL and big data analytics as well as artificial intelligence and machine learning. PLM, CAD, Catia and Delmia.
Some of my achievement was in New Product Introduction of DPI 610 to DPI 611 Pressure calibrator, wherein I was involved in tear down activity, competitive benchmarking, cost engineering, DFMA and redundancy of parts were identified using TRIZ & Fast methodology. Make or buy and investment decisions.
In Value Engineering projects, I was involved in leading team, conducting brainstorming sessions to facilitate idea generation, Functional Analysis, Cost Ranking, Evaluation, Execution & product development process.
Certified Value Management Module 1 and Value Management Module 2 from Value for Europe as per EN12973 standards.
I am a good team player, able to work effectively in virtual, cross-cultural environments as well as with all levels in the organization. Known for excellent client-facing skills, I have participated in supplier negotiations and presentations.
