Post-Training LOD Optimization for Gaussian Splatting

Personal Project
Developing post-training level-of-detail strategies for large-scale indoor Gaussian scenes without retraining the model. Constructing room-level spatial partitions over trained splats using COLMAP structure and boundary estimation. Implementing renderer-side frustum culling and region-aware activation to reduce active splat count and improve runtime performance on resource-constrained devices.

GeoFuse-SFM: Geometry-Aware Dense Reconstruction from Sparse Structure-from-Motion

Personal Project
Built an incremental SfM and multi-camera reconstruction pipeline from scratch. Directed geometry-aware seed-based dense depth propagation from sparse SfM points. Integrated geometric registration and reprojection-based refinement for consistent sparse-to-dense reconstruction. Implemented pose graph construction and reprojection-error minimization for geometry-consistent multi-view reconstruction.

Computer Vision Engineer (Contract)

Kukan
Developed a room-scale 3D geometry processing pipeline using ARKit and RoomPlan, converting depth data into point clouds and meshes through ICP registration, RANSAC plane extraction, and geometric reconstruction. Generated simplified collision meshes and built BVH-accelerated collision models. Trained, optimized, and deployed 3D Gaussian Splat representations for real-time interactive visualization within a Three.js system. Built geometry-aware scene understanding and viewpoint ranking pipelines.

Computer Vision Engineer

Kaptura GmbH
Developed C++/ROS2 software components and a Panda3D simulation framework for an industrial multi-camera 3D scanning system (~250 cameras). Developed NeRF and Gaussian Splatting pipelines for multi-view 3D reconstruction. Built a 2D-3D camera calibration and tracking pipeline with custom markers and homography-based correction. Applied SfM, camera pose estimation, and bundle adjustment to refine camera poses and mitigate drift.

Research Assistant - Computer Vision

Technical University of Chemnitz
Generated synthetic 3D datasets and reconstructed indoor environments (~500 scenes) using Unity3D and NeRF pipelines. Developed simulation datasets for autonomous driving perception experiments. Built perception pipelines for 3D object recognition, object detection, segmentation, tracking, and surface understanding. Created annotation workflows for human pose, object detection, segmentation, temporal recognition, and 3D datasets using CVAT and CloudCompare.

Research Experience - Computer Vision

Technical University of Chemnitz
Built a NeRF and Gaussian Splatting based large-scale dataset (~600K images) for fisheye-view human reconstruction and pose estimation. Trained neural rendering and pose estimation models using multi-GPU workflows. Automated large-scale segmentation and human annotation generation using SAM, GroundingDINO, and Vision Transformers. Generated SMPL-X/SMPL-H meshes and evaluated pose estimation pipelines.

Object Tracking using YOLOv8

Personal Project
Implemented and evaluated object detection pipelines using YOLOv3 and YOLOv8 for multi-object scenarios. Integrated DeepSORT to enable real-time multi-object tracking across video sequences. Contributed to the DeepSORT open-source project by updating the codebase for compatibility with latest Python and TensorFlow versions.

Monocular-Omni-Human-Pose-Estimation

Personal Project
Built and annotated a synthetic top-view human pose dataset with structured JSON/XML labels using LabelMe. Trained and evaluated HRNet, SimpleBaseline2D, and CenterNet models for omnidirectional pose estimation using COCO-style AP/AR metrics. Performed keypoint evaluation and reduction from 17 to 13 keypoints to improve stability for downstream experiments.
