Provided data science, fullstack software and ML engineering services to improve data annotation efficiency and quality. Implemented research papers, adapted them to customer use cases, built proof-of-concepts, deployed them to production.
For my Ph.D., I research on how text annotation can be supported via machine learning. My goal is to
enable researchers collecting data for interesting and novel applications more quickly and cheaply.
I am part of the INCEpTION project, a Java-based semantic annotation platform offering intelligent
annotation assistance and knowledge management. INCEpTION has over 400 users.
I lead the system administration group consisting of one full time sysadmin aided by several Ph.D.
students. We provide the IT for around 40 people in our lab (mail, chat, personal hardware, compute,
support, ...) so that they have the infrastructure they need for their work and experiments.
I manage and take part in the IT modernization of UKP, including building our GPU compute cluster,
new personal hardware, modern monitoring, new chat and digitalization of workflows.
