To enable rapid onboarding of new partner platforms in a fast-moving, high-value ecosystem, I modernised a

fragmented and expanding landscape of ~11 microservices. Through an intensive design sprint I identified

shared requirements, standardised event flows, and delivered a simple platform library and system template

that allowed several services to be simplified, replaced, or fully retired, while stabilising critical paths, improving

latency and observability, and enabling the organisation to launch with a hyper-growth partner ahead of

competitors.

To support a multi-year initiative to automate and scale e-commerce campaigns I lead discovery and system

design for a complex multi-source stock tracking platform. Leveraging many of Postgres’ advanced capabilities

and golang’s support of them, I delivered a robust, scalable and auditable system, providing the business with

accurate, granular and verifiable insight into their (and their suppliers) current, historical and future stock

levels; the foundation they needed to grow for the years to come.

I designed and implemented a reliable service to synchronise critical system data, while disarming a critical

multi-service event loop that could take down numerous systems. After evaluating multiple architectural paths,

I worked with the team to choose the best and executed the rollout smoothly and in good time. Reducing

operational risk and improving system stability with a simple and robust solution - very satisfying!

A core multi-service design had stalled due to one system having constantly changing and inherently volatile

requirements. I introduced an architecture that allowed dependent services to progress immediately while

keeping future changes low-impact, with a route to stabilise. This reduced a projected months-long effort to a

two-week delivery and gave the teams a clear, maintainable path forward.

At Wayfair, I led the development of multiple payment-system projects for international stores, directly

increasing revenue in high-growth markets. This success contributed to the creation of a dedicated 6-engineer

Payments team in Berlin, which I led. We owned all user-facing payments end-to-end: system stability, feature

delivery, and the modernisation of core payment infrastructure.
