Project/Program manager with IT Technical Infrastructure and Service Delivery background and pharmaceutical experience for my client in Basel.

My client, a multinational organization is looking for a senior Project/Program Manager for a 6 months project.

Description

  • Manage project planning and execution for concurrent, global and complex cross divisional Merger, Acquisition & Divestiture projects of category C - A. Analyze and provide business solutions. Manage cross functional project teams and maintain control of progress, quality and budget.
  • Provide end to end Program Management services for M&A projects, divestitures, transformations, site consolidation, Joint Venture projects.
  • Provide internal support to grow and mature GIS PMO group, foster collaboration and sharing of methodologies, strategies, tools.

Major Accountabilities

1. Manage Technical Deliverables

  • Manage technical plans provided by GIS Service Areas for multiple global and cross divisional projects from start-up to completion, utilizing industry standard PMI methodologies and tools. Scope of work includes any of our client's locations worldwide and any of its Division or Cross Divisional project or program. Typical acquisition deals are $100M to $8+ billion+ per deal.
  • Support creative solutions where non-conventional' projects occur. Examples include Joint Ventures, Pre-acquisition activities, Divestitures, Site Consolidations.
  • Lead the matrixed technical project staff and project organization. IT teams being directly managed per project consist of over 30 resources, regardless of deal size
  • Provide planning forecasts for projects, ensure actuals are booked on time and a current financial overview is maintained with Project Manager.

2. Program Management Services

  • Responsible for ensuring all Infrastructure services are delivered in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements and agreed project plans.
  • Communicate with all project stakeholders and managers of assigned cross functional project staff.
  • Collaborate with Security, Compliance and Legal, ensuring proper project governance and controls.
  • Plan and organize each project. Plan and allocate internal and/or external resources to accomplish project tasks.
  • Drive business value and achieve the project objectives.
  • Manage quality, timeliness and cost of the deliverables.
  • Create and maintain control over the project's budget and status.
  • Ensure compliance with financial guidelines (SOX & NVS internal CAR guidelines & procedures).
  • Report project status and issues where help is needed to the appropriate escalation authority, manage conflict.
  • Compliance to the ICE methodology and GxP where applicable.

In addition to accountabilities listed above in Job Purpose:

  • Responsible for managing agreed MA&D projects. This role gives the project team directions and maintains control of progress, quality and budget.
  • Manages and represent the project from start-up to completion.
  • Plans and organize the project, allocate internal and/or external resources to accomplish project tasks.
  • Leads the project team.
  • Assumes responsibility for achieving the project objectives.
  • Manages quality, timeliness and cost of the deliverables.
  • Maintains control over the project's status and budget.
  • Manages stakeholders.
  • Reports project status and issues where help is needed to the Steering Committee.
  • Complies to our client's project management methodology ( ICE ) and GxP where applicable.

Key performance indicators/measures of success

  • Achieve agreed milestones in terms of quality, time and cost.
  • Accuracy of financial numbers for the project in general and high forecast accuracy in particular.
  • Adhere to defined management and delivery processes for IT projects and other policies relevant to the project scope (eg HW/SW standards, CSV, Information Protection).
  • Ensure delivery of project results according to agreed quality, schedules and cost while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Lead the assigned project personnel to jointly achieve a high customer satisfaction.
  • Challenge project teams to ensure proper problem solving or to develop GIS new architecture standards.
  • Responsible to identify continuous improvement opportunities in cost reduction and performance of all existing IT services.
  • Establishes and chairs the appropriate service line and vendor technical project meetings.

As the role is part of a global organization, willingness for required travelling is important.

EDUCATION

  • Essential:
  • Desirable:
    • University working and thinking level, degree in computer science or comparable education/experienc
    • ITIL v3 certification
    • Formal Project Management Accreditation preferred (Prince 2, PMP, CAPM, etc)

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 10 years experience in IT Project and Program Management
  • At least 5 years IT Technical Infrastructure and Service Delivery experience in a global organization required.
  • At least 3 years experience with diversified and complex projects, large scale mergers/acquisitions preferred.
  • In depth knowledge of Network, Hosting, Messaging, Desktop delivery and automation, Mobility, Service Desk operations, Security and Governance.
  • In depth knowledge of PMI and Process Management disciplines.

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical trends, politics, and initiatives.

  • Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members in an effort to perform continuous improvements.

  • Able to think and act strategically and tactically from a broad business perspective.
  • Strong organizational skills. Capability to foster a collaborative team environment with diverse team members..
  • Understanding and knowledge of general IT infrastructure technology, systems and management processes
