Application Manager
The application owner for MS Internet Explorer, MS Office, MS Silverlight & other applications have to be support by the application manager in engineering of applications packages, using SCCM and App-V with MSI packages as this is the client's standard. Responsibilities typically require broader scope, higher degree of customization, and greater complexity in terms of connectivity, users, platforms, etc. than duties required at the Analyst level.
Job Description
* Acting as an application manager of multiple Microsoft Internet Explorer Microsoft Office, Microsoft Silverlight and other applications
* Developed standard technical project documentation which included functional requirements, technical design and test documentations.
* Provide 3rd level support for the Microsoft Office Microsoft Silverlight and other applications (contact with global helpdesk and Microsoft support)
* Understanding the MSI, MST, MSP and EXE packages for Windows 7 32-Bit/64-Bit; Windows 8, Windows 2008
* Understanding Unattended Installation, SysPrep and WIM (Windows Image Format) to deploy Windows Bit, Windows 8, Windows 2008 application packages
* Test applications on Desktop/Laptop and virtual images.
* Work with IT security group(s) to assess efficacy of products, packages, processes, and modifications, and ensure adherence to security parameters.
* Work with other technical and user groups to enhance and facilitate the use of automation tools and processes.
* Assist business groups in asset management (inventory).
* Develop automated discovery tools/processes/scripts to detect potential problems.
Skills required
* 5 years IT experience, including 3 years of end-user system support.
* A related Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
* Deep knowledge of Microsoft products Microsoft Internet Explorer , Microsoft Office , Project, Visio.
* Knowledge in software distribution with SCCM in a large environment
* Knowledge of core technologies (WS OS, desktop apps, Network OS, server).
* Scripting and package-creation using standard industry tools (Installshield, WISE, WinBatch, SMS).
* Experience with configuration management and IT project management.
* Strong verbal and written communications skills.
* Ability to actively listen to customers' concerns to exceed their expectations.
* Proven multitasking abilities to conserve time.
* Ability to directly or Matrix-manage project staff.
