The primary responsibilities of the Contract Manager are:
Participating, as necessary, in developing the solicitation and writing the draft documents. Contract administration must be considered during this process.
Monitoring the contractors progress and performance to ensure goods and services conform to the contract requirements.
The role calls for involvement from bid stage in formulating terms and conditions and pricing for submission of the bids, along with the statement of compliances to the bid
Driving and active participation in bidding to the customers
Working closely with the legal team and acting as a bridge between the business and legal teams.
Guiding the delivery team on the obligations and sharing the contract summary with them.
Advising delivery leadership on how to take advantage of the strategic aspects of risk management Embedded in the contract.
Monitoring and managing contract compliance, including proactively working with the client and Legal teams to resolve contractual issues.
- Determining the sequence of activities, dependencies, required or desired outcomes, and acceptable performance levels.
Developing a timetable and start and end date for each performance component. Include milestones with accompanying timeframes, and monitoring and reporting requirements.
Monitoring contractor activity on a specified frequency to identify problem areas.
Meeting with the contractor on a regular basis to review progress, discuss problems and consider necessary changes.
- Authorizing payments consistent with the contract terms.
Exercising state remedies, as appropriate, where a contractors performance is deficient.
Resolving disputes in a timely manner.
Documenting significant events.
Maintaining appropriate records.
Maintaining the contract through an efficient change order process to represent the dynamic execution environment
Escalating exceptions and issues as needed. Understand the commercial risks facing Wipro/ABB in the contract and manage on-going mitigation
