WebSphere MQ Specialist

The project: The WebSphere MQ Specialist will work within the Swiss messaging services team developing end to end MQ configurations for a specific project in the Swiss division of the bank. The configurations can span multiple platforms but the emphasis will be on z/OS.

Your tasks:

  • Developing documentation to describe each requested configuration using Microsoft Word and Visio
  • Liaising with requestors where necessary to obtain documentation approvals and to discuss any issues arising from their requests
  • Developing object definition scripts using ISPF for those deployed on z/OS and Windows based text editors for those deployed on Unix, AS400, Windows
  • Providing support to test teams following configuration deployment
  • Troubleshooting and remediating configuration issues where found during test
  • Adhering to teams documentation and script development standards

Your experience/skills:

  • Excellent technical skills in WebSphere MQ which must include specific knowledge of MQ Clustering and SSL
  • Good understanding of Z/OS and Unix (Linux/Solaris), knowledge of other platforms (egAS400 or Windows) would be useful
  • Ability to quickly envisage the operating landscape of a bank and the specific scope of the project engaged in
  • Capacity to quickly grasp an understanding of all the processes necessary to achieve the allotted tasks
  • Languages: Fluent in English both written and spoken, German nice to have
