Senior System Engineer Unix
On behalf of our client, a leading global company within finance we are looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer Unix. For this contract position based in Zurich Switzerland our client is looking for a German and English speaking candidate who can start in April 2015. The skills and experience needed for this position are;
- Good technical understanding of a complex IT Infrastructure (> 200 Servers)
- Able to fix incidents under pressure in a structured manner
- Good communication skills
- Customer focused and service oriented mindset
- Good analytical and conceptional skills
- Fluent in German and English
- Higher university degree or similar
- 4-6 years of experience in engineering, installation, maintain and operation of Unix Servers (Solaris & RH Linux) & Middleware products (Weblogic, Java, Apache Tomcat)
- Experience in setup of ressource monitoring and it's analysis on Unix Servers is desirable
- Experience in file transfer environments (Connect:direct, etc,) would be an asset
- Knowhow of high availability solutions, disaster recovery technologies and integration methodologies
- Basic knowledge of LAN and Firewall zone principles
- Experience in working with ITIL processes for Incident-, Change- and Problem Management
- Experience of working in teams
Your main responsibilities will be;
- This summarises the overall purpose of the role - how it adds value
- Installation, integration and automation of the Unix Servers (virtual and physical)
- Operation, deployment and support of the Unix Servers
- Analysis and fix of incidents and problems
- Improvement of the services and its availablity
- Documentation of the infrastructure
- Technical consultant to internal engineers and projects
