For a global bank based here in Zürich we are looking for a SQL Server DBA to join the team.

The Job:

  • Install, maintain, operate and support our clients MS SQL Server Infrastructure Environment
  • Restore, Backup and clone of DB instances
  • DB environments and components understanding
  • Incident management for the DBs in scope
  • Proactive application/project team co-ordination during incidents
  • Problem/Issue resolution (System & Performance)
  • Database Object Performance/Tuning
  • Knowledge management, including documentation
  • Automation
  • Look after the availability, integrity and security of our clients data in the projects database
  • OnCall support

We are looking for candidates with:

  • University degree or equivalent work experience in computer programming
  • +4 years experience in SQL Server database administration gained from large scale complex organisations
  • Must have solid clustering know-how
  • Profound experience in incident management for DBs
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
  • Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
  • Any Sybase experience is nice to have
  • Fluency in English
