Senior Project Manager
On behalf of our Client, a leading global company within finance, we are looking for a Senior Project Manager to drive the database automation strategy and direction across the bank's large database estate. This role will have responsibility for the implementation project of a compelling database automation strategy, using input from key stakeholders, internal customers and suppliers. The project realization plan will be socialised with stakeholders and then used to drive the project implementation. The role will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of this specific project ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. Your main responsibilities will be;
- To assume responsibility for the project management of the individual work streams as directed by the Programme Director.
- To achieve high performance on all aspects of project delivery, in line with commitments made.
- Define, communicate, execute & monitor the project plan, schedule and prioritise specific to individual activities, in line with agreed requirements, with appropriate work packages and key milestones.
- Maintain effective and good working relationships with programme and project stakeholders.
- Manage the project through risk planning establishing appropriate mitigations and contingency plans communicated to the Programme Manager and key Stakeholders.
- Establishing and embedding benefit realisation management for the project using an appropriate and industry recognised methodology for the purpose of delivering the strategic objectives defined in the programme.
- To meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions.
The skills and experience needed for this position are;
- proven qualification in project management or equivalent manager position (8-10 years)
- knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
- knowledge of project management techniques and tools
- direct work experience in project management capacity
- proven experience in people management, strategic planning, risk management, change management
- proven experience in IT infrastructure and DBMS (Oracle and MS-SQL)
- proficient in project management software
- fluent English and German
