For one of our multinational client based in Basel (Switzerland) we are currently looking for a

Test Manager (6 month contract role) - Basel/Switzerland


  • An ERP project set up changed from regional to global business process oriented.
  • Test approach was regional, need to change to functional
  • The pilot test scripts are incomplete, mainly of bad quality, sometimes inaccurate
  • Test scripts quality prevents global resource leverage for testing
  • More and more countries to come increase the urgent need of adding automation to it


Test manager resource who takes over the following responsibilities:

Overall responsibility for test activities in the project

Review test effectiveness across the project organization and drive improvements

Review test strategy, approach and planning in the light of the tower oriented and risk based approach

Increase quality, accuracy and ensure scope is covered

Aggregate global test plans into a cohesive test schedule and maintain it through all test phases

Coordinates (plan, lead) Test Processes globally and tracks progress with Tower leads (template) and GAP team

Coordinates, Monitors and Executes central test activities (eg SolMan setup, CBTA, FIT, UAT, RT planning, )

Centralized Test Status Reporting

Communicates Test activities with regions/local sites

This requires a person with solid test management experience and the will to change and challenge the current status quo.


At least 5 years' experience as a test manager in a global company.

A strong understanding of testing and automation technologies from both a technical and business perspective, specifically writing Test Plans, Test specifications and Test Reports.

Experience in managing and sustaining diverse relationships.

Demonstrated pro-activity in capitalizing on opportunities and resolving issues, shaping the test and quality area of large scale global projects

Use of defect tracking systems and version control systems;

Experience in creation and delivery of full Test Strategy and various Test Plans across global SAP projects.

Experience in creating and improving testing practice standards, processes and procedures.

Experience in SAP ERP and SAP related products like PI, BW,

Functional knowledge in SAP FI/CO desirable
