Connect44 is looking for Senior RAN Engineer for work in Zurich -English speaking + German or French or Italian
Duties Reports to Senior Manager RAN Engineering
Goal of the job
tasks and duties:
Define radio network design strategy
Define radio planning rules
Define national radio network frequency layer strategy (which technology on which frequency)
Define business rules for radio network design (new sites or upgrades deployment, default antennas, features eg MIMO)
Lead and provide radio network design studies
Define national frequency/SC plan
Provide general radio planning guidelines (RSRP, capacity target, link budget, etc.)
Provide radio capacity dimensioning guidelines
Provide special planning guidelines (eg indoor planning guideline)
Define input parameters such as traffic and cluster maps, usage patterns etc. for Monte Carlo simulations to provide service area maps
LTE planning knowhow transfer within
Radio department

General Radio planning rules
Input parameters for traffic maps, usage patterns, service area/capacity
calculations
Difficulties, problems, challenges:
Keep up-to-date with new RAN
technologies
Find compromise between costs, quality and time
Big spectrum of know-how and fastlearning skills
Deal with several groups and interfaces
Fulfill parallel tasks and stick to deadlines
Profound radio planning and radio planning tool knowledge
Being able to transfer knowledge to a group of radio planners

Musts:
Education
Practical experience
Languages
University degree (ETH/EPFL) o university of applied sciences (FH), with engineering degrees like, Telecommunications; Electrical Engineering, Computer Science.
Minimum five years of experience in general radio planning
Minimum two years of experience in LTE planning
Profound experience with radio planning tools
English and one of Swiss spoken language skills
Nice to have:

Languages
Telecommunication operator experience in a similar position.
Other Swiss spoken languages
Profound experience with Forsk Atoll
3.x radio planning tool
Special knowledge/skills/competence:
