Junior Production Supporter (Entry-level)

Duration: 6 months + extension, long-term project - opportunity to grow within the bank

Role overview:

PTG is our client's Production & Testing Group, responsible for providing Production Support and Testing services globally across the firm.

This team owns, supports and acts as the gatekeepers of the Production environment for Trading & Sales applications used globally around the clock by thousands of users ranging from Relationship Managers and Credit Risk Managers to Traders and External Clients.

Their application platform is complex and built of a mixture of in-house developed and third party customized systems hosted on a variety of Operating Systems including Solaris, Linux, Windows, and Databases including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase. The applications they support deal with thousands of critical trading and sales transactions each day - from pricing complex Structured Products through to managing Limit Orders in fast moving markets.

Key deliverables:

Primarily, the candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day Production Support on a wide variety of incidents and requests to business clients and technical stakeholders. These solutions will directly benefit our internal users and external clients working on critical Trading & Sales systems. Our client has high expectations from the Production Support team, and rely on them to act as owners of the Production environment.

Additional duties and responsibilities:

Acting as part of a team, the candidate is expected to act as a contributor to positive change - driving process improvements and work-reduction to continue to work towards building a world-leading, cost-effective Production Support organization.

The ideal candidate will frequently be required to work within a team of around 5-10 application support analysts

Ideal profile:

- Graduates or candidates with 1st commercial experience

- Experience with Unix (eg handling files, searching logs, checking processes)/can be theoretical knowledge gained during educational studies

- Experience with SQL querying (Oracle/Microsoft SQL)/can be theoretical knowledge gained during educational studies

- Strong team player

- Good listening & spoken communication skills in English

- Good problem-solving skills;
