For a four month project (September - December 2014, with continuation option) at our banking client in Zurich we are looking for immediate support in the form of a
Junior Data Analysis Specialist (2253)
The project: As part of the banking supervision program, the bank has to implement the Basel principles for effective risk data aggregation and risk reporting. The consultant will be assisting the Senior consultant in developing/enhancing data reconciliations, especially for the areas of market risk, credit risk and operational risk losses. He or she will cross check if those data flows are in line with Financial Statements of the bank.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Help to define data analysis requirements
- Analysis of the current situation, set up detailed data flow charts between divisions (risk and finance for instance)
- GAP Analysis
- Writing of documentation and hand out material
- Manage and control the project roadmap, monitor the deliverables, address issues, changes, etc, this could be described as typical Project Management work
- Write Status reports
The skills we are looking for:
- Data Analysis knowhow and ability to map data flows
- Excellent statistical knowhow, gained from Uni/ETH or from work experience
- Knowledge of the banking sector
- Creative and self-organized personalities
- Very good MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
- English and German as a must
- A flair for numbers, inconsistencies with reports, data crunching, etc.
- Work experience in one of the large banks in Switzerland is highly advantageous
