Lead Functional Architect
About the Program
The aim of this program is to implement a global centralized software solution that allows our client to continue to provide an unparalleled service network, via its own offices throughout the world. Adding or modifying key concepts, technical components and functionalities will allow this solution to become the unique operational system for our client.
The Role
The application architecture lead is responsible for defining, formalizing and maintaining a consistent and optimized functional architecture for the IT applications. He/She coordinates the work of a Core Team of Applications Architects and Business Experts in order to define the best Functional Architecture for the business units. He/she will analyze requests and decisions from teams and projects that could impact on Global application architecture.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinating a team of experts, lead the functional architecture work-stream of the program, with the aim of optimizing and automating Business Processes, as well as allowing each application or its components to evolve independently, depending on technology or Business changes
Formalize and ensure functional validation of the initial vision for the global architecture of future applications. For each project of the program, ensure that the definition of the scope of the
project is in line with the initial vision.
Ensure overtime that the functional architecture, applications scope and flows between applications, remains consistent and optimized.
Define software components that best supports the functional required behavior of the application
Deliver, own and maintain detailed Applications Scope Diagrams and documents, mapped to the Business processes, as well as data flows between applications
Define High level application architecture, in formalizing current diagrams, and designing and formalizing target architecture of IT applications
Deliver and maintain a high level of data model of key Business Objects and a set of
Business Rules
Quality assurance of functional specifications for Workflows, Reports, Interfaces and
Custom Enhancements
Configuration of application in accordance with the functional design and specifications
Participate in estimating the sizing of the infrastructure to support the requirements
Skills and Experience
Have an extensive experience in application architecture, in large companies
Have a strong background in Application Design and specifications, Datamodelling and
Software architecture (including off the shelves Software categories, software components,
vendors)
Have a broad understanding and experience of Business processes management (BPM)
principles and technologies, workflow and rules management systems
Experience in Optimization Engines is a plus
Have strong knowledge of organization's Business Models, Practices & Processes and
IT Landscapes
Must have functional competencies in the shipping/transport industry
Presentation skills and interpersonal skills are a must
Strong organizational skills, business thinking and result oriented
Work well under pressure, as part of a team and independently
Have high standards of performance.
Team spirit
Language skills: Fluent English - other languages are a plus - Rate between CHF per day depending on your experience and your location
