For our client, an international company in the Medical Industry based in the Area of Zurich, we are looking for a
Senior Systems Engineer - VMware vSphere and vCloud
3 month contract
To maintain, design and support our client's VMware vSphere and vCloud environment and collaborate in IT projects both local and enterprise wide.
Tasks
- Maintain the current VMware vSphere and Vcloud environment and keep it up to date.
- Collaborate with the VMware team and other IT towers to design future VMware environment.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team on the vCloud platform to provide them the needed LAB environment for their daily business.
- Provide 3rd level support on the VMware platform environment. Interact with internal customers in a polite and professional manner.
- Microsoft Windows server administration (3rd level). Other Microsoft server application administration.
- Maintaining relationships with third party Helpdesk provider and monitors Service Level Agreements.
- Plan and execute regular IT equipment refresh (Servers, etc)
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of problems via the problem tracking system.
- Document new help desk procedures as well as maintain documentation on troubleshooting and technology, contribute to the knowledge base as required and ensure smooth hand over to third party Helpdesk provider.
- Apply all QA Procedures as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as System Administrator or in Systems Engineer
- Degree in computer science or equivalent
- Certification in VMware VCP5, VCP-Cloud, or MCSE desirable
- Sound knowledge of and professional technical experience with Intel based Servers and PCs/laptops. Windows server 2008, 2012. Windows 7, VmWare and vCloud, NetAPP (storage in general), networking (Routers and Switches)
- TSM knowledge desirable.
- ITIL Knowledge or ITIL Foundation certificate would be a plus
- Fluency in English is a must, good German skills are highly desirable
- Must be mature and tactful
- Must be highly motivated and have a positive attitude
- Must be a team player
- Excellent listening and customer service skills
- Excellent analytic and logical thinking
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Understanding of commercial terms
- Willing to travel occasionally.
