For a project at our banking client site in Zurich, we are looking for aVirtualization Engineer (VMWare vSphere) (2071)
Deliverables
Provide Lights On and essential maintenance activies for the virtual platform.
Serve as a primary Virtualisation Engineer and to provide technical supervision and guidance to onsite team of engineers
Assess how business requirements can be met using virtualisation technologies.
Evaluate and test new versions of virtualisation software and associated management tools.
Integrate virtualisation products with other software and services to provide end to end customer services.
Serve as a mentor, trainer, and technical lead in areas of expertise
Requirements
Excellent understanding of VMware vSphere technologies and server automation concepts.
Experience designing and operating enterprise level virtualisation solutions for a global organisation
Proficiency in scripting and/or automating repeatable processes, specifically using Linux shell
Excellent Communications skills - fluent English mandatory (written and verbal)
Experience in writing code against the VMware API and SDK
Expert in writing code such as Windows Services and GUI using .NET languages (e.g. C#)
Broad understanding of IT architecture and infrastructure
Experience designing scalable multi-location virtual infrastructure platforms
Working knowledge of Windows and Unix / Linux
Good understanding of SAN/NAS technologies and their integration with virtualisation platforms
Good understanding of Networking technologies and their integration with virtualisation platforms
Ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment while effectively prioritizing tasks
An advantage would be:
Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery techniques
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
Experience in a large Data Center Environment and related technologies
