Service Transition manages and co-ordinates the successful on boarding of new Managed Services from point of Acceptance into Service (AIS) until rollout into production which includes the handover in to the live operational service delivery environment.
The role is a combination of the classical ITIL based Service Delivery Manager, Change Manager and Release & Deployment Manager roles and therefore combines their duties and responsibilities.
Within Service Transition the Deployment Manager plays an important role, in order to ensure the planning and execution of the Production rollout of approved changes into the physical environment and has close collaboration with Application Development and as well the PTG Support SME's.

The activity of a Deployment Manager is a combination of:

- Plan & coordinate deployment execution of production changes (incl. DR) (main focus Mainframe and Unix)
- Review of deployment control procedures into UAT
- Moderation of Support Briefing Session for Support staff
- IT Control Tower: orchestrate, plan and conduct critical IT events
- Ensure Audit compliance
- Conduct post implementation reviews
- Respond to change inflicted production issues (PTS)
- Provide Service Transition SPOC to Environment Management (Process Governance/Tool Support)

The role provides a proactive advisory services to AD and other external stakeholders and he must ensure Operational Readiness of the PTG groups to support new or changed services. He must also ensure the continual improvement of all processes as the IT organization develops and evolves.

In your job as a Service Transition Manager, some amount of late night and weekend work is required.

WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:

Essential:
Minimum 5 years IT experience in development or support related activities

Desirable:
- 5+ years of application development experience in the financial/banking domain.
- Previous demonstrated experience in a Service Transition Manager role (Change Manager, Release & Deployment Manager, Service Delivery Manager) or IT Project Manager role.
- Experience of working with offshore teams.

TECHNICAL/BUSINESS SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

Essential:
- Superior skills in technical and business analysis
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English but preferably also in German; business writing skills
- Knowledge of IT Lifecycle models (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile, eg SDLC/SDLC +, IT-PV or new CS-SDF)
- Project Management and execution
- Knowledge of Support processes (ITIL)
- Good knowledge/prior experience in financial services domain

Desirable:
- Private-/Investment Banking domain knowledge will be an advantage
- SharePoint
- Knowledge of version control tools like SVN, VSS
- Strong developer/support experience

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Essential:
- Soft skills - ability to reach consensus while having a clear goal in mind
- Proven people management skills
- Confidence to liaise with customers and internal colleagues on a one-to-one basis
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Someone who can lead teams - not necessarily manage teams but working within teams for the benefit of project and process management and drive these forwards.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and be capable of producing sensitive communications to a varied and potentially global audience.
- Occasional weekend work and/or night work must be acceptable for the candidate

Desirable:
- Experience of project delivery in all aspects of the Transition Lifecycle Management for the introduction of outsourcing or managed support services
