For a major international client in Lausanne, we are looking for a:
Senior Development Database Administrator to monitor, tune and maintain our client's scientific databases
Responsibilities will include:
- Support the team of developers by: Tuning and optimizing database structures as well as the SQL queries, Providing advice on SQL query optimization and Providing advice on partitioning and indexing strategy
- Provide in-house database technical consulting and training
- Monitor, tune, size test & development database infrastructure
- Design and implement DB security, user management
- Design and implement backup methods and disaster recovery strategies
- Migrate DB between software versions, platforms, DB products
Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
- Significant experience with the following relational databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle
- Knowledge of DB security and data management
- Experience of Backup and disaster recovery
- Familiarity with agile methodol ogy
- Good understanding of database development
- Scientific background, ideally in Life Sciences
- Fluent written and spoken English
This is a contract position with an international client, located in Lausanne, for 3 months in the first instance with a good chance of an extention. Info-Tech will provide advice and support through your relocation if you are working in Switzerland for the first time.
