For our client, one of the most instantly recognisable brands in the banking sector worldwide, Swisslinx are looking for a Sybase Database Administrator for a new 6 month contract in Zurich with a strong chance for extension starting in May 2014.
Sybase DBA, Banking (Contract, Zurich)
As a Sybase DBA, you're deliverables will include the following:
- Responsibility for technical management and coordination of issues and projects primarily involving installation, configuration and on-going administration tasks of SQL Server and Sybase databases
- Active participation in the resolution of system and performance issues
- Close working relationship with other team members locally and globally to provide understanding across all components of the database environments
- DBA support for development teams and involvement in recommendations for new projects
- Additional function to provide advice and assistance in terms of developing and progression of the infrastructure environments, including the assessment of needs and recommend solutions in an Enterprise IT
In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience as a DBA
- At least three years experience of Sybase ASE database and Sybase Replication
- Server administration ideally within the financial sector
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system
- Good SQL and basic Scripting language (Perl, Shell) knowledge
- Knowhow of Sybase Replication Server/Sybase IQ
- Experience with MS SQL Server
- Fluency in English (German advantageous)
