For an assignment at a client we are looking for a

Senior Software Engineer (Build & Release)

Begin: asap
End: April 2015 (with renewal option)
Location: Upper lake of Zurich

Objective:
Design and develop continuous build and delivery chain that guarantees reliable, smooth and timely delivery of software products or updates.

Tasks & responsibilities:
- Design build and delivery chain for fitting software products and related software products
- Automate and unify modular steps of build pipeline and ensure reliability and repeatability in execution
- Develop and maintain release management processes
- Define and integrate artifact management system for build chain and for releases to different stakeholders
- Integrate unit-, integration and system tests in different build stages with other software developers and software developers in test automation
- Define, set up and maintain build infrastructure (build servers build agents) together with IT department.
- Create and maintain build configurations for main path development and branches for product releases and studies
- Ensure reliable and fast builds for commit and acceptance stages
- Develop installation programs for fitting software products and related software products
- Close collaboration and knowledge exchange with software engineers responsible for build pipeline for embedded software, mobile applications and web and enterprise services
- Continuously improve personal and group wide development process
- Maintain and update tools used to assist build pipeline and release process
- Identify bottlenecks and optimize performance of build pipeline
- Document and maintain documentation of build and release pipeline including build infrastructure
- Debug deployment issues
- Develop and enforce best practices in build and release management
- Ensure that development practices are compliant with best practices and the client's standard operating procedures (SOP):
Fitting Software SOP, System Integration SOP, IEC 62304, IEC62366

Requirements:
- Higher level software science or engineering degree (Bachelor or Master)
At least 3 years of experience in software engineering, release engineering, and/or configuration management
- Experience in automating release and build processes
- Experience with build management tools (Teamcity, MSBuild)
- Experience with software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems (Subversion, Git, Artifactory, NuGet.)
- Experience with state of the art software development technologies and tools
- Experience in one or more scripting languages
- Experience with developing installation programs (Installshield, Windows Installer)
- Experience working as part of a SCRUM team
- Excellent analytical skills
- Able to structure and finish work
- Curios regarding latest tools and technologies in Build & Release management
- Passionate to automate everything
- Highly motivated, proactive, willing to perform
- Credible,team player, positive thinking
- Very good communication skills, able to find the individual communication channel and abstraction level when communicating
- Willing to foster and further develop team and processes
- Understanding of best practices in build and release management, continuous integration and test automation
- Understanding of software design methodologies including
- Understanding of software and architecture design principles. SOLID
- Preferably experience with .NET
- Good German and English skills in both verbal and written
- MS Office Suite
- Further education as build and release engineer is an advantage
