For our customer, a global bank in Zurich, we are looking for a
Senior Project Management Officer (PMO) (1883)
In this role you will work in the Market Risk IT Portfolio Management Team based in Zurich.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Keep track of status, budgets, issues, risks, dependencies and benefits delivery of Market Risk IT programs/projects and releases; facilitate resolution and escalation of issues as required.
- Manage the budget for Market Risk IT, including forecasting, raising funding requests, creating regular budget reports.
- Communicate precisely the status of programs/projects as well as relevant risk and issues to all stakeholders incl. senior Business and IT stakeholders
- Support Project Managers and help run their projects from a PMO perspective.
- Help manage resource plans and hiring process for Market Risk IT. Assess hiring needs with the Project Managers and Portfolio Managers, coordinate resource request approval process, coordinate hiring process.
- Support the IT release management process (coordinate approval process, send release notes etc).
- Help prepare Steering Committee meetings and other governance forums as required.
- Manage timesheet administration and other PMO processes and systems.
- Enhance the current processes and tools to manage the Market Risk IT Portfolio of programs/projects and releases (PMO/Project/Software Delivery Life Cycle)
This is a broad and challenging role that requires a combination of business and technical knowledge, coupled with strong client-facing and interpersonal skills.
The ideal candidate has the following qualifications and experience:
- Strong PMO or Project Portfolio Management skills; at least 5 years of PMO/Project Management experience; Project Management certification is a plus
- Well structured, very reliable and dedicated; high attention to detail, ability to handle a significant number of dependencies and issues without dropping balls
- Experience in Project Management of small to medium sized projects.
- Be a self-starter, show initiative and a strong sense of ownership.
- Fluent in English
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, Excel Pivot Tables.
- Real world experience in working on large and complex projects in (Investment-) Banking spanning regions.
- University Degree in IT and/or Finance/Economics/Business Administration Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to adapt to different audiences and working styles/backgrounds in a global and diverse team. This role is part of a global team with people located across Europe/US/APAC.
- Flexibility and ability to define and implement pragmatic solutions under pressure where required
- Good understanding of Investment Banking products and process as well as Financial Market Risk Management concepts are a plus - ability to connect the dots across the involved projects and the business benefits and IT solutions they deliver
- Practical experience with project/software delivery life cycle approaches and tools
