For our customer, a leading global acting financial institution, we are looking for aUnix backend System Engineer for Trading Applications
The Engineering team is very project focused and emphasis is placed on documentation, reporting and project management skills.
A significant amount of responsibility is placed on the team members as they are expected to be in control of their assigned projects and thus must ensure that it continues on course and is completed on time.
You will be responsible for:
• the design, testing and integration of RMDS solutions globally, currently focused on Zurich deployment of the new Enterprise Platform components on the Linux Red Hat Operating System and multi-core hardware
• working with a team of Engineers to create/approve designs and develop global standards.
• interfacing with end users/developers and other engineering teams (e.g. technical infrastructure services team, Vendors)
• act as a consultant to the operations and application development teams to provide 3rd level support/assistance and technical advice.
• deployment of additional market data enterprise products and software upgrades.
• design, testing and integration of a global Multi-Vendor Contribution System.
You meet the following technical and other Skills:
Reuters RMDS backend infrastructure with 6-8 years’ experience. You must have actively supported/engineered/installed a market data system.
Scripting (sh/csh/bash/perl), TCP/IP networks, i.e. you must have an understanding of networks to be able to analyse network related issues,
etc. UNIX and Linux Red Hat System Administration e.g. able to gain configuration/performance information from a server using standard industry commands.
Proven experience of managing a Multi-Vendor Contribution platform sending prices to vendors such as Thomson Reuters , Bloomberg (via MPF), SFI (Telekurs), Sungard, etc.
Knowledge of SFC/RFA/TIB/RV APIs Knowledge of Windows System Admin, Java, Market Data desktop applications (e.g. Eikon Premium, etc.), Financial Markets basics, ITRS Geneos, Firewalls, MSQL, Subversion, Blade Logic
