Technical Writer
Edelway SA is a Swiss IT Services Consultancy. Our global multinational end-client based in Basel is currently looking to hire a Technical Writer on a long-term basis.
Working language: English. German is a plus.
Full time engagement at least until end of September 2014.
Starting Date: 01.04.2014
THE ROLE:
*Responsible for ensuring Service Integration and Governance/Reporting team is able to deliver the agreed technical documentation targets in a cost effective and timely manner for and to the different stakeholders.
* The main Job objective is to provide different types of documentation activities and relief the team from document production load
*Create and maintain documentation ("as is" and "to be" processes).
*Ensure that developed documentation is in line with internal and external requirements and regulations *Elaborate specifications and support projects as a business analyst
*Gather requirements, analyze the impact on Service and Operations, specify process improvements and support the improvement/process implementation (eg in user acceptance tests)
YOUR PROFILE:
*Good to excellent command of English. German and any additional language is a plus.
*5+ years of experience in an IT function ideally IT Service Management within a business analyst and process engineering role
*Good understanding of SQL Reporting Services
*Good understanding of Data Warehouse concepts
*Proven experiences in service management processes (ITIL V3) and best practices
*Proven experience in requirements management
*Proven experience in writing functional & design specifications, process descriptions and/or user guides and manuals - based on business requirements
*Good understanding of a Business Intelligence architecture and related technical systems
*Knowledge of pharmaceutical working environment is a plus
*Good to excellent understanding of SharePoint 2010 (Power User level)
*Proven experience in utilizing and managing content on SharePoint 2010 (beyond normal end-user knowledge), (eg creating and maintaining lists and libraries effectively, publishing documentation, using Visio Process Repository, etc)
*Experience in working independently with Manager in different location/timezone
*Knowledge and understanding of "Good Documentation Practices"
*Ability to solicit information from subject matter experts
*Good written, presentation and verbal communication skills
