German speaking MS SQL Database Engineer
On behalf of our client, a leading global company within finance, we are looking for a German speaking MS SQL DB Engineer. For this contract position based in Zürich in Switzerland our client is looking for an English and German speaking candidate who can start as soon as possible. Tasks:
- Collaboration in engineering MSSQL platform builds
- Collaborate with peer Technology teams (eg Operating Systems & SAN Engineering, Systems Management)
- Integrate tightly into the working processes of global DB Engineering, Platform Development and Provisioning
- Integration of vendor tools for automation of installation and operations tasks
- Improve monitoring and maintenance concepts for database installations on large platforms
- Contribute to security baselines, patch and vulnerability policies and life cycle management guidelines
Essential:
* University degree in computer science or equivalent
* Proven Microsoft SQL DB (2008 R2/R1) Operations or Engineering skills (4+years)
* Working experience on standardized large IT environments
* Problem Solving and Cross-Technical Integration
* Experience with Microsoft SQL on Microsoft Clusters
* Experience with SQL queries (analyse and report)
* Experience in Automation, Testing
* Ability to communicate between different time zones
* Willing to improve current environment/processes
* Excellent written and spoken communication in English language
* Ability to work efficient and drive results under pressure
Desirable:
* Windows System Administration
* Window and Web Services development
* Exposure to Application Server software
* Sybase and Oracle experience will be an additional asset
* MCSM, MCSE, MCSA, MTA - one of family of Microsoft SQL certifications (or working towards taking exam in next 6 months) will be an additional asset
