Senior Sourcing Manager Technical R&D required for a minimum of a 6 month contract in Basel, Switzerland
Job Purpose
To manage effectively the sourcing&contracting for the Near-Patient-Testing Unit (NPT) in the TRD sourcing team by issuing, negotiating, finalizing contracts.
Major Accountabilities
1. Support Global Head TRD Sourcing in industry analysis, market scan, current strategy, and a gap/opportunity analysis for NPT
2. Establish sourcing strategy for NPT to ensure delivery for goods&services for NPT business and its direct&indirect categories.
3. Support managing key supplier relationships through appropriate programs (eg alliance management, supplier relationship management).
4. Develop RFI, RFPs, as needed for preferred providers and negotiate key frame contracts
5. Executes and negotiates frame agreements, confidentiality agreements, and contracts for NPT ensuring compliance to Clinet legal, ethical, and procurement standards.
6. Support Global Head TRD sourcing and Global Category Managers in activities for spend transparency (spend baselines, KPIs and metrics) and support efficient business processes in line with applicable regulations.
Key Performance Indicators
* Ensure delivery of goods&services for NPT Unit by creation of a robust supplier base for NPT development and commercial activities.
* Effectively manage the business processes and deliver contracts in time and quality to protect Client interests (eg IP, liabilities, costs, confidentiality)
* Ensure compliance with Client procurement, legal, regulatory, and ethical policies.
* Issuing in time and quality RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, in case e-sourcing/e-auction events
* Meet category savings and cost efficiency targets through productivity and process improvements
Financial responsibility:
Impact on the organization: Ensure delivery of goods&services for NPT in development/commercial
Delivery of contracts and bids on time, with high quality for agreed upon cost through procurement of services and goods
Ensure compliance with Client procurement, legal, regulatory and ethical policies
Ideal Background
Education. Sourcing/Contracting education/training
* University degree or equivalent in a technical area
* Mechanical Engineering Degree/Scientific degree preferred
Experience. Sourcing/Category Management Experience in scientific categories (lab, raw materials, biologics, diagnostics) in development and/or commercial of at least 2 to 4 years
* Business experience including purchasing/sourcing in diagnostics preferred
* Technical and pharmaceutical development understanding and experience, as advantage
* Experience in contracting/bids writing
* Proven ability to work under tight timelines with delivering high quality results
