For our banking client in Zurich we are actively looking for aDB / Storage Engineer (1659)
It is a six month project with continuation option.
The project:
- Actively manage DB/Storage performance and throughput of strategic infrastructure platforms, such as DHP (Database Hosting Platform), SAN & NAS, etc.
- Define methodology and basic approach, select required tools and technologies
- Intensively collaborate with peer groups and experts in Application Development, Productions Support, Platform Integration and Engineering.
- Provide information and support to Operations, Application Development and Platform Integration - lead remediation actions in case of performance degradation or performance related system failure within the DB, storage (SAN/NAS) and backup environment
- Intensively collaborate and leverage existing Capacity Management function
- Support resource based application infrastructure profiling to determine current resource needs in addition to forecast growth. Optimize resource usage and performance by developing capacity management processes.
Skills we are looking for:
- Oracle 10g/11g ( > 10 years), including knowledge of the following:
RAC/ASM,
Dataguard,
RMAN,
Grid Control,
Database Tuning / Optimization;
- Unix/Linux ( > 10 years), including knowledge of the following:
Veritas VM / CM,
VMWare ESX;
- SAN / NAS Storage Architectures, including knowledge of the following:
HDS / EMC,
Dynamic Tiering, Thin Provisioning,
NFS Netapp;
- Application / Tool / Procedure development using
PL/SQL, Java ; Perl ; Shell.
- Fluent written and spoken English and German
