We are looking for a Service Manager App Services for a 11 + month project in Switzerland.

The role is about managing an application test and deployment service for a global biopharma research organization. The ideal candidate will be accountable for the service design and management aspects to guarantee timely, efficient, accurate, and uninterrupted access to applications for 5,800 researchers: Application test service includes evaluation, implementation, training, maintenance and support of an automatic application test system as well as its integration into the client build process.

You are responsible for

  • Developing short and long range strategic service plans for application test and deployment
  • Leading the AppServices team consisting of 4 people providing application test and deployment services
  • Evaluating, implementing, training, maintaining and supporting of an automatic application test system
  • Managing global application portfolios and application catalogues
  • Consulting application owners for the best application test and deployment method
  • Defining interfaces, processes and metrics for application test and deployment services
  • Guiding evaluation, selection and implementation of application deployment related vendor supplied software packages, including: installation, customization, and ongoing support
  • Planning, and implementing or overseeing coordinated testing of new applications as requested by client service managers to ensure compatibility with existing desktop software applications
  • Software Packaging and Deployment Support
  • Software Integration of components for standard Workstation software platforms
  • Coordinating global software deployment projects
  • To handle multiple tasks simultaneously and interact with key executives
  • Professionalism and confidence
  • Ensuring proper implementation of global standards, policies and regulatory compliance (GLP & GCP)

    Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in design, development, implementation, and management of IT services for large organizations
  • Experience in planning and managing the technical design, construction, and delivery of technology solutions including a strong focus on the technical elements of desktop architecture
  • Experience as a Desktop Architect/Engineer with extensive Windows systems build and deployment/migration experience
  • Experience with Scripting and SW packaging
  • Several years' experience leading a team
  • Advanced user of all Microsoft Office applications, as well as SharePoint 2010
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, computer science, engineering or mathematics
  • Scripting and/or programming skills; experience with PowerShell/VBScript .NET
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industries
  • Chemistry and biology software application and system experience
  • Project management experience or equivalent training
  • Fluent in English; desirable: German language
