for a Senior Java Developer in Securities Trading Environment
Project environment:
IT Equities in Switzerland provides the strategic Order Routing and Execution Hub for a Global Swiss Bank’s Investment Products and Services globally, and has embarked on several projects to expand the product offering of the platform and replace several older order managers. The platform is a modern, high-speed, multi-threaded, Java-based distributed system, built on Service Oriented Architecture and high-speed, low-latency proprietary middleware.
The Order Management System, interface components and ancillary services are developed primarily in Switzerland, but with offshore teams also contributing in an agile development methodology. The system uses Linux servers and PC-based GUI applications.
Tasks:
• Hands-on energetic programmer with the ability to provide technical and business expertise to the team and the wider programme
• Self-starter that can understand business requirements, analyse and design pragmatic and effective solutions on strategic architecture and enable the wider team to deliver solutions through to production
• Responsible for development of the core Order Management System middleware, external system connectivity, ancillary services and related automation components
Requirements:
• Expert multi-threaded, multi-tier distributed Java application developer
• Strong securities trading & Investment Banking knowledge essential
• English is a must, German highly beneficial
Technical skills:
• Advanced OOA/OOP/OOD in Java, UNIX (Linux), Relational DBs
• Sound multithreading, garbage collection and performance tuning knowledge
• Highly experienced in developing front office trading applications
• Various libraries and tools: Tomcat, MQ, JMS, Hibernate, JAX, XML, SOAP, Apache Libraries and Commons, Utils, NIO, Java 1.5 and 1.6 Xtras, Concurrency API’s
• Strong SOA know-how
• FIX & Swift Protocols and Libraries knowledge
