Proteus Europe are proud to announce that one of our prestigious clients based in Switzerland are currently looking for a Senior Embedded Systems Development Manager to join them on a permanent business. The successful candidate can look forward to working closely with the CTO in driving the development of the next generation of embedded computer module products.

Position Summary:

Senior Development Manager

Embedded Systems Experience: 10/15 years+.

Education: Minimum B.E / B.Tech / B.S Degree in Electronics, Electronics & Communication

Functional Area: Development.

Job Location: Switzerland (EU or Swiss citizenship mandatory).

Travel Requirement 20%.

Description:

Responsibilities:

Develop and manage the execution of the product development roadmap.

Set top line engineering priorities and provide / allocate resources accordingly.

Resolve conflicting priorities according to overall product development strategy.

Regularly update reporting tools to track key engineering metrics regarding costs, project schedule, performance characteristics of HW/SW, etc.

Recruit, train, integrate and coach new employees as required.

Tasks:

Job Specific:

Work as a deputy to the CTO to drive the development of our next generation embedded computer module products.

Responsible for product life-cycle management, the related product eco-system, as well as customer support.

Management of development teams in Switzerland and abroad.

Providing overall engineering and development leadership.

Establish and maintain liaisons with key suppliers, key technology partners, production partners etc.

Ensure that production partners deliver to agreed quality, cost, timing targets etc.

General:

Develop, manage and maintain proper electronic and printed documentation of all workflows within complete area of responsibility.

Provide input to plans and strategies for a business unit, department, or project to satisfy internal client(s).

Make recommendations or provide input to the determination of financial goals of a business unit or department.

Identify and take action to reduce costs that are focused on creating greater efficiencies, economies of scale or better quality resources for a project team, department, or business unit. Work with others across business units to ensure integration and completion of work above and beyond expectations.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Experience/Skills:

10+ years of experience in embedded systems development.

Sound expertise in ARM architecture, Windows CE / Compact and Embedded Linux.

Capable of successfully managing and delivering technically complex projects with geographically distributed development teams.

Excellent English language skills reading/writing/speaking is required. German is a plus.

Character:

Technology enthusiast who lives and breathes technology and is always aware of the latest trends and developments in the embedded marketplace.

Service mentality, strong customer orientation.

On-time, on-budget delivery attitude.

Solid leadership skills, ability to motivate employees, excellent team player.

Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate, written, spoken and presentation skills.

Process oriented, very systematic, strong execution skills.

Thrives in a SME/KMU environment, used to doing work him/herself, not just a delegator.

Committed, cool under pressure.
