Java - Application Developer
This position is within the software development team and will be responsible for designing and implementing application components. This is a fast paced environment leveraging industry leading Java technologies on Linux/Unix.
Must Have Skills:
- 6 + years of professional experience designing and developing software applications.
- 5 + years coding experience using Java in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Strong computer science fundamentals
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and life cycle
- Knowledge of design patterns in software engineering
- Experience with Web Services and API Management (RESTful, streaming)
- Experience with NoSQL stores (Riak, ElasticSearch, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.)
- Experience with Web technologies like Java Server Faces, Java Server Pages
- Experience with Spring, Hibernate, JPA, JUnit, XML, JSON
- Experience using Apache HTTP, Tomcat, MySQL, Shell Scripts
- Excellent problem analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Self-starter with self initiative and direction
- Experience providing technical leadership for projects
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Technical certifications
- Experience working in data-driven environments (eg Information Retrieval)
- Experience with stream processing (S4, Storm) and publish-subscribe messaging (Kafka, Redis) preferred
