Our CLIENTOur client is an international trading firm expanding all around the world.
In order to support the development of the Swiss activities, the Swiss office is today looking for a Compliance Officer to build up and design the compliance department.
The purpose of the role is to support the business on a compliance point of view; providing the ad hoc information and recommendation.
In direct report to the CFO you will be in charge of all compliance activities within the firm while also being in direct contact with FINMA.
The ROLE
You will be operating in a fast moving environment and working directly on the trading floor. As a compliance specialist your tasks will be:
- Design the internal compliance program
- Maintain a relationship with FINMA and draft and write all new policies and guidelines
- Implement appropriate controls and measures of regulatory risks
- Train and advise the business on all compliance topics
- Provide recommendations (and warning if needed) to the business
- Compliance reporting
- Ad-hoc Compliance projects
The REQUESTED profile
We are looking for a candidate having the following skills and expertise:
- Degree in Law, Business, Economics, Finance or equivalent
- 5-10 years experience in a compliance role
- A strong interest in compliance and finance
- Experience within a trading environment, securities dealer, market maker, asset management or brokerage firm
- Swiss Experience and dealings with FINMA
- Strong personality, diplomatic but firm, business minded, ability to work on a sales floor with traders
- Fluent (native or similar) German and English
- EU passport or Swiss passport/permit
