For our customer – a globally operating insurance company – we are looking for several

Senior IT Project Managers “Corporate Insurance” (might include occasional travel) #1528

The initial contract duration will be three months (phase 0) to prepare and set up the project. By the end of the year it will be decided if the project is continued. Based on this go/nogo decision the contract will be extended into 2014.
All the projects at hand are in “global corporate” and “non-life” environments.
Work Specification:
• Responsible for the operational management of this cross departmental/cross-functional project and ensures that the overall project objectives are clearly defined and met. The projects in question are of medium technical complexity and contain various change and communications elements and which make a strong business impact
• Is responsible for project planning, executing, monitoring and reporting; adequate resource planning and management according to our customers Management Framework; request evaluation and authorization, as well as review of cost estimates including supplier estimates, as well as all the financial aspects of the project including managing of project budget, forecasting and reporting actual and forecast expenditures. Coordinates delivery of work products from "all parties involved; liaises with the customer and function.
• Leads and directs the project planning effort. Determines the team structure and organization according to size of the project.
• Manages the project team and coordinates the work effort in the execution of the project and manages the risk of execution and change, i.e. has overall responsibility for project risk management and establishing effective controls. Reports to Sponsor/Steering committee on progress and key project metrics and is accountable for the completion of all project management deliverables to required level of quality.
Required skill set and experience:
• Excellent command for information technologies, i.e. Bachelor degree in the area of IT or business information studies is preferred
• Non-life corporate insurance knowledge and experience, with an understanding of insurance programs for global corporations
• 7+ years of IT project management of medium to large international projects, preferably in the insurance industry
• Solid and proven project delivery track record
• Experience in working as a leader and trusted advisor to the management and in an international environment
• Excellent English is a must
• German and any other additional language are beneficial
