Technical Banking Business Analyst
Edelway SA is a Swiss IT Services Consultant. We are constantly looking for highly motivated Business Analyst to join our expanding banking team on a long term basis here in the Geneva/Lausanne area. We are particularly interested to hear from candidates keen to live and work in Switzerland. Our team works in an international banking environment and fluency in English is mandatory. An excellent package is offered for the right candidate. We are based in Switzerland and we will take care of all the logistics (permit, payroll, your taxes administration).
THE ROLE:
The role of the Business Analyst is to be involved in all stages of the development life cycle. You will be the liaison between the Business and IT groups in performing tasks to interpret the business requirements and then link them to the application, ensuring the technical solutions satisfy the business requirements. You will participate in the implementation of key projects and maintenance requests for users. The BA allows users to optimize the day to day running of their business as well as providing them support regarding the applications developed.
Key responsibilities:
* Strong interest in understanding the business products and existing related applications
* Document project scope, identify and resolve key issues and risks. Document business processes and communicate potential business and systems impacts based on analysis of the data
* Write functional specifications documents with supporting use case diagrams
* Assist the technical team in understanding and developing the appropriate functionality. Potentially participate in the development and coding of new enhancements and applications;
* Participate in the maintenance of existing applications;
* Assist his/her project manager in defining the most appropriate solution for maintenance request and the projects;
* Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders locally and abroad, providing application support, release management, build leads and other project teams.
* Assure that projects follow standards, guidelines and steps as defined in the development methodology;
* Be involved in writing test scripts and analysing test scripts/data to ensure functional requirements have been covered, help with user acceptance testing, sign off, and post-release. Participate in the user acceptance testing and training of new implementations (including the supervision and preparation of user documentation);
YOUR PROFILE
* At least 3 years as a Business Analyst within a global bank
* Knowledge of software development methodologies (Waterfall or/and Agile)
* Good knowledge of banking concepts (Front Office, Back Office or Middle Office)
* Database knowledge SQL (Sybase or MS SQL Server would be an advantage);
* Experience with large and complex projects with distributed development teams. Ability to interact and direct multi-cultural and geographically diverse teams
* Experience handling multiple requests and queries at the same time;
* Continued dedication to providing best of class service at all times;
* Communication skills, analytical skills and validation skills;
* Attention to detail, high level of accuracy;
* Fluent in English;
* Team player and leadership skills;
* Use of good judgement - customer orientation;
Knowledge:
Knowledge of the different financial instruments is desirable although training will be given to the right person. Mathematic/Analytic background, securities industry business knowledge for example Equities, Fixed Income and derivatives is key but not required.
