Senior Network Engineer
Job location:
This position will be based in Dübendorf, Switzerland and you will join a dynamic, young, fast growing and international team.
Organizational integration and reporting line:
Reports to Manager of backbone Engineering Team within Engineering Department
Goal of the job:
- Engineering of Huawei's customer backbone network
- To support product development process in the area of backbone network
Tasks and duties:
- To address conceptual network reliability, redundancy and quality of service aspect in the domain of backbone network by constant monitoring and planning network elements and interfaces
- To provide network design and network changes proposals (optimization and/or planning) based on traffic changes and forecasts or project requests
- To provide project management for network changes, extensions
- To initiate and support internal implementations within Networks
- To build guidelines on how to grow the network in a controlled and structured manner
Responsibilities:
- MPLS backbone network responsibility built out of Juniper T1600, Juniper T640 and Juniper MX series service Routers and Cisco stuff
- Guarantee the necessary capacity for all service traffic in MPLS backbone network, by monitoring and planning the related ports and network elements
- Open minded for fruitful relations with equipment third party vendors and other departments
Requirements:
Education Degree in Engineering and further training on Project Management is preferred
Practical experience
- Must have worked several years in an Operations and/or Engineering backbone environment in a telecommunication company
- Hands-on experience in working with some of the following network elements: Juniper T640/T1600, MX960, MX480
- In-depth knowledge of IP, routing, Ethernet
- Strong understanding and practical experience with technologies like MPLS, L2 VPN, L3 VPN, traffic engineering
- Very good understanding with telecommunication like mobile backhaul, mobile packet core, 3G/LTE network
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Preferably with IP Networking and optics networking knowledge
Languages
Fluent English oral and written

- Must be analytical and can abstract customer (mainly internal ones) needs in measurable values
- Must be able to build good internal and external relations
- Must have strong social skills
- Must be able to work in international and multicultural environment
