On behalf of one major client in the Pharma industry, Harvey Nash is currently looking for a Scientific Research Associate for a project in Basel.
Project scope
Scientific associate is sought to work in the Discovery and Investigative Safety Department of my major client The candidate will be responsible for cell culture work, treatments with compounds and various in vitro assays. The main assays comprise fluorescence based microscopy (automated Cellomics system) and microplate reader based methods, oxygraph/seahorse measurements of oxygen consumption rate. Qualification
Extensive experience with tissue culture, including primary cells and cell lines is a prerequisite. Additional experience with primary cell (eg hepatocytes) isolations and being the holder of an animal license would be a plus. Experience with reagent/compound handling, calculations of concentrations and performing serial dilutions. Experience with a broad range of cellular assays and methods. For example, the candidate may have experience with some of the methods: Fluorescence based microscopy and image analysis, immunofluorescence, enzymatic based microplate reader assays, ELISA, RT-PCR, WB, Oxygen consumption rate measurements (OCR). Experience with Cellomics Arrayscan automated microscopy and Oxygraph/Seahorse methods would be a plus. Diligently plans experiments and orders material/reagents required for the experiments. Understands protocols, performs experiments and procedures with limited input from supervisor. Analyses results (IC50s, fold change) and provides interpretations and evaluation of data. MS/BS in Toxicology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or a related Biological Science with two or more practical years of experience. Bachelor degree or equivalent education/degree in life science/healthcare required if accompanied with = 4 years experience in clinical. Additional information:
