We are looking for a System Support Analyst (2nd level Support, with UNIX/Solaris skills)
The role is for the position of a System Support Analyst in IT FXMM PS supporting the Cash Risk portfolio of applications. The applicant will be a member of a Global team with members in Zurich, Stamford and Singapore who support the applications on a 24x5.5 follow the Sun model.
The team is responsible for:
application deployment and support in both pre-production (UAT) and production
planning for business continuity in the event of a disaster
support for infrastructure maintenance
analysis of the way in which the applications run in UAT and production and suggest possible enhancements to the way in which they are deployed/configured in order to improve performance and redundancy.
Our primary customers are internal front, middle, and Back Office staff, other Support groups and the development groups who write the applications themselves. This is a second level role that entails collaboration with in-house software development teams (third level,) call management/tech support desk and production system support teams (first level: very limited,) our extensive user base, and the resources of our global team. Swiss specific applications for the Swiss Secure Zone are also a responsibility.
As well as team lead responsibilities and proprietary application production support, other work will involve the management of production infrastructure and transformation of new releases to Production - planning and execution. While support functions are generally limited to specific proprietary applications, team members will gain breadth of knowledge of dependent systems from front to back, from both an operational view as well as a product view.
The candidate would have the ability to develop their business or IT. based skills depending on their preference. The individual would be expected to show natural flair and ability, which would then lead to greater responsibility.
Strong Unix Skills (Solaris) is a must.
The candidate must have strong Problem Solving and Decision Making Skills
New team members receive training to enhance their understanding in both the business and the core-technologies used within the team. Individual assessments are performed to identify these areas and are incorporated into new team member training as required.
