Introduction:
For one of our clients near Lausanne we are looking for an experienced LINUX Systems Administrator.
Role:
Manage day to day operations of the underlying infrastructure for the bioinformatics solution. Your main tasks will be:
- Working with vendor to ensure backups, hardware and network are working effectively
- Manage storage (NAS, SAN, DAS)
- Account administration (new accounts, DNS, shares)
- Working with other admin staff for "self organising" team to meet requirements (related areas - DBA, key app management, dev team)
- Manage software environment (new package installation, user environment, software version management - multiple versions avail simultaneously)
- Monitor and report on overall system health
- Manage in depth the job dispatcher/grid - time to learn/training provided
Requirements:
Must-Have:
Solid experience in at least THREE of the following:
- RHEL experience
- Virtualisation
- Job Despatcher (eg MOAB TORQ SGE LSF)
- High Throughput Cluster (aka HPC)
- (IBM) Intel based hardware
- GPFS
- TSM
Nice to have:
- Problem determination/diagnostics
- Operational problem tracking with vendors
- Automation (script writing, monitoring)
- Tenacity to resolve problems
- Passion for domain
- Rigour to setup comprehensive admin environment (documentation, organisation, configuration etc)
Languages:
- English (speaking/writing)
- French is an advantage
