Main Responsibilities
Experience programming in agile environments supporting rapidly changing requirements and technologies highly desirable, including team programming;
Lead development efforts on large scale web-based projects, ensuring robust & lasting solutions are implemented
Awareness of multiple mobile platforms with the ability to build solution that take advantage of the latest mobile features while remaining performant on the latest mobile devices
Maintain existing JavaScript libraries: making sure they support the engineering and creative needs of the Bioinformatics Systems team.
Mentor team members:
Educate on software development best practices and new technologies, especially HTML5 & CSS3
Innovate:
Build things that people will blog and Twitter about
Establish strong link with all bioscientists, bioinformatics analysts and other software engineers and vendor partners, and deliver documented source code to the infrastructure

Competent JavaScript programmer who doesn't need to rely on libraries to accomplish innovative interactions
5-8 Years' of professional software development experience with Front End web development (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, AJAX)

Interpret sometimes unclearly expressed needs and analyse/develop workflows together with users
Very strong communication skills, including ability to interact efficiently with people from very disparate technical and cultural backgrounds;
Knowledge
web standards to build solutions using semantic markup, CSS, and JavaScript coding with thorough knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues specifically with HTML5 and CSS3
Experience with advanced CSS3 features such as CSS transforms and animations
Understanding of Node.js, Backbone.js, jQuery, LESS, SASS a plus;
Well-versed in fundamental visual and interactive design discipline
Comfortable with source version control software (CVS, SVN, Git)
