Software Engineer needed to act as Java SME with architecture and design background for an investment bank in Zurich. The role includes a full range of development activities, from working closely with the business to define requirements and solution, close contact with the offshore scrum team for development phases managed with Jira, some hands on coding where required, solution QA and release support. The candidate will also be helping with the long-term architectural decisions and strategy, ensuring this is implemented where possible.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Technology critical: Java, MQ, SQL, Linux.
- Technology desirable: Oracle, WebSphere, Scala, Flash HTML.
- Experience of reference data management applications is highly advantageous, large data volumes, data design, user interaction, data/business rules.
- Experience of data hub/integration applications (bespoke or COTS) - messaging, file transfer, ETL, data quality, reconciliation.
- Good specification skills in the Agile manner/Scrum Process using Jira (brief, clear, etc)
- Fluent English and excellent communicator
- German or Russian would be useful
Candidates must have either EU Passport or Swiss work permit; and be available in no more than 2 months.
